Rokstone launches International Casualty Division, names Wylie Portfolio Manager
Rokstone, the international specialty re/insurance MGA and part of the Aventum Group, is strengthening its global specialty offering with the launch of its International Casualty Division.
Sam Wylie has been appointed Portfolio Manager of the new division, a UK-based role, and will be joining the company upon completing his notice period.
Wylie brings over 15 years of specialised experience in International Casualty, joining from Convex, where he serves as Class Underwriter for five years.
His extensive background includes senior roles at Tokio Marine Kiln and Marsh, where he developed deep technical expertise and a strong track record of profitable growth.
The International Casualty Division will be backed by A-rated Lloyd’s capacity, enabling global underwriting reach and robust long-term security.
This launch is the latest milestone in the company’s strategic build-out of its Casualty portfolio, following the recent launch of dedicated units in the US and UK & Ireland all within a matter of months, including Sports and Leisure Event Casualty, US Commercial Risks, North American Excess Casualty and the UK/Ireland Casualty division.
This diversification demonstrates Rokstone’s agility to diversify its portfolio to take timely advantage of changing market conditions, the firm stated.
Across these five new Casualty units, Rokstone anticipates generating over USD 850 million in gross written premium (GWP )within five years, reflecting its ambitious global vision and fast-growing underwriting footprint.
Ian Anson, Global CEO of Rokstone, commented: “Our agility allows us to capitalise quickly on market opportunities, and the International Casualty space provides meaningful diversification for our global portfolio.
“It’s a complex and competitive sector, one where only the best underwriters truly thrive. Sam brings that calibre of expertise, and we are delighted to welcome him to Rokstone.”
Anson added: “While the market is well-capitalised today, we know that long-term success in Casualty requires more than just capacity. Brokers value strength in depth, underwriting discipline, and stability through the cycle. Rokstone’s blend of specialist talent, long-term capacity partnerships, and proprietary technology gives us an edge few can replicate.”
