Tokio Marine HCC (TMHCC) has named Elizabeth Geary, pictured above, its first-ever president and CEO for North Americas property and casualty (P&C) unit. The new seat underlines the firms intent to sharpen leadership around this key arm.
Geary, who will work out of TMHCCs New York office, steps into the post on June 30 and will report straight to Susan Rivera, chief executive of the wider group.
She is charged with steering growth in North American P&C segments, aligning strategy and boosting day-to-day performance. Her arrival deepens TMHCCs executive team as it pursues a broader leadership upgrade begun earlier this year. In May Barry Cook was elevated to deputy CEO, a move that already hinted at the structural shift.
Before TMHCC, Geary led insurance solutions at Liberty Mutual, creating a unit that tackled fresh risks flagged by brokers and clients, from cyber threats to energy transition and bespoke alternatives.
Her career also includes many years at TransRe in underwriting jobs ranging from US property and health to global cyber leadership. She rose to chief underwriting officer for North America and then to president of worldwide portfolio management.
Rivera explained that naming Geary to the new top role shows the companys fresh plan for the future.
