AXIS enhances Global Markets team structure with several organisational changes

AXIS, a provider of specialty insurance and reinsurance solutions, has announced a number of organisational changes to further enhance underwriting and operational performance within AXIS Global Markets.

axis-capital-logoSara Farrup, Head of Global Markets, commented: “As part of AXIS’s commitment to continual progress and leadership in specialty, we are aligning several of our Global Markets teams where we see clear pathways to work more collaboratively and effectively together.

“Doing so has created opportunities for promotion and expansion of responsibilities and demonstrates the underwriting and leadership acumen within our business.”

As part of these changes, the London-based General Liability and International Casualty MGA teams will now report to Sarah Stephen who has been promoted to Head of Liability.

Stephen will report to Dax Gulmohamed, whose responsibilities are being expanded to include oversight of all Global Markets Liability, in addition to Professional Lines and his role as CEO of AXIS Specialty Europe SE.

Gulmohamed and John Owen, Head of Specialty, will now report to Rory MacGregor, Head of Underwriting, Global Markets, in an expansion of his direct responsibilities for Global Markets underwriting lines.

Additionally, the UK Property binder team will be integrated into the Global Markets Property team, formerly known as Non-Marine, led by Steve Cross.

Further appointments include Baj Brar, formerly Head of International Casualty and Construction MGA, who has been promoted to Head of Construction, Global Markets.

Brar is succeeding Anna Woolley who is leaving AXIS later this year to pursue new opportunities.

In a new role focusing on Operational Excellence, former Head of Analytics and Innovation at AXIS, Sam Patrick, has been appointed Head of Global Markets Transformation.

He will be reporting to Sara Farrup and work closely with the Global Markets leadership team to advance operational excellence, streamline underwriting processes, and enhance business responsiveness and product innovation.

AXIS also noted that a search is underway for a new Head of Delegated Strategy, who will report to Farrup and oversee the leadership and development of all coverholder and MGA businesses within Global Markets.

“Taken together, these actions and appointments help advance our strategic priorities and ability to best deliver for customers in a dynamic marketplace. By realigning talent in areas that will enhance collaboration and operational performance within Global Markets, we are progressing in our ambition to be a leader in our chosen specialty markets,” Farrup added.
